We keep all our isopods on the same substrate which is a tropical, organic substrate such as peat moss mixed with coconut fiber, sphagnum moss, leaf litter, and leaf compost.
Zebra Isopods (Armadillidium Maculatum)
Reproduction- Moderate
Temp range- 70-85
Humidity- Moist but ventilated
Diet- Primarily leaf litter, decaying plant matter, animal feces rotting wood, fish food flakes/pellets, fruits and vegetables.
Powder Orange Isopods (Porcellionides Pruinosus)

Temp Range- 72-85
Humidity- 80-90%

Punta Cana (Armadillidium Sordidum)

The most saught after Isopod!

Sevilla Isopods (Porcellio SP. Sevilla)

Humidity- Dry, ¼ moist. Well ventilated
Diet- Primarily leaf litter, decaying plant matter, animal feces rotting wood, fish food flakes/pellets, fruits and vegetables.
Yellow Dot Isopod (Porcellio Ornatus)
NOT GOOD FOR BIOACTIVE!
These are best suited as hobby species, due to their need for high protein in their diet.
They have been known to cannibalize each other and reptiles/amphibians when fed inadequately.
Reproduction- Moderate
Temp range- 78-80
Humidity- Dry. ¼-½ moist, rest bone dry and ventilated
Soil- Dry, 50-50 organic soil and peat moss. Keep ¼ moist and the rest bone dry
Diet- Highly protein dependant, will cannibalize without it. Needs lots of calcium. Leaf litter, decaying plant matter, animal feces rotting wood, fish food flakes/pellets, fruits and vegetables.
Springtails (Collembola)
Springtails are great for animals needing smaller food than a fruit fly.
They also clean up your tanks.
Springstails are temperature sensitive remember to ship overnight if temperatures are under 50 degrees at night and above 80 degrees during the day.
