20 Count Butter Worms per cup
(Chilecomadia moorei)

Butter Worms have a natural fruity smell and a red to yellow color that reptiles can't resist. Butter Worms are packaged in saw dust and get stored in the fridge.

Butter Worms are used as a food source for a variety of pets including birds, small mammals, fish, lizards and other reptiles. Perhaps better known as fishing bait, Butter Worms have been long used for fishing in their native country of Chile. Butter Worms are well known in Europe where they are used extensively as both live pet food and fishing bait.

Trevo Moth

Butter Worms have fat smooth bodies like wax worms but are much, much larger.

Our Butter Worms are shipped in saw dust. The packing material is used to absorb moisture and not as a food source as the Butter Worms will not eat it.

Store your Butter Worms at temperatures of 42 to 45 degrees F. in the refrigerator. They keep for extended periods of time.

Make sure the bedding material remains dry, as moisture will kill the Butterworms. They do occasionally try to spin cocoons but will not pupate.

At around 43 percent Calcium, butterworms have more than twice the Calcium content of almost all other feeder insects - on par with the Phoenix Worm!

What is Weather Protection

A 40 hour heat pack is used as weather protection when temperatures are between 30 degrees and 50 degrees. Some insects like the heat and cannot handle the cold very well. A 40 hour heat pack is all the warmth they need during shipping.

A Cryo Pak is used as weather protection when temperatures are between 80 degrees and 90 degrees. A Cryo Pak helps regulate the temperature inside your shipment so the insects do not get too hot and die.

There is a $3.00 charge for this service. Please see our shipping policy to ensure your shipment has the live arrival guarantee.

I wanted to share with you how the phoenix worms saved the life of my beardie hatchling.
I got the beardie two weeks before xmas and he became very ill shortly after the first of the year.
I ended up hand feeding him for several days until he got some strength back. He almost died on me.
I ordered the phoenix worms because Ollie had a hard time catching crickets as he hadn't grown for the first couple of months.
After feeding the phoenix worms Ollie has since shed and is growing quickly. The package arrived as promised with all the worms alive.
I have also ordered crickets for my other herps and want to thank you for the excellent quality of your product.

I got my butter worms in today; 25 just to try out. I took them home for my lunch break and gave 5 to my 5 month old bearded dragon. She promptly ate all 5 of them. It's too bad you only sell cups of 25, as I would consider these for a staple feeder. Thanks!

My bearded loves the butter worms. He is a very picky dragon. He doesn’t like super worms and stopped eating crickets. I bought these from you and he loves them, but you haven’t had any in a while that I’ve seen. As others stated I wish they were in larger quantities.

Thank you so much for helping me find a new Staple Diet for my Beardies !!! They absolutely LOVE the Butter worms !!! I do wish you would sell them in larger numbers (i.e. 100, 200, 500 worms per cup), my beardies go through 25 in 2-3 days. You guys have the best Customer Service around and wow do shipments arrive fast ! I've had a few glitches with the Phoenix worms I've ordered, but you have taken care of it right away with integrity. You have gained a loyal customer !!! Anne - Tacoma, WA

I own a retail store and sold lots of mealworms, crickets and waxworms. I was thrilled to find a site that sold more than that. The variety has excited my customers. I think this makes the reptiles healthier, too!
